The Finance team is responsible for developing and executing on Dropbox’s financial strategy and is hiring amazing employees to tackle the challenges ahead of us. As part of the Finance team you’ll have broad exposure to various teams within Dropbox, including sales, legal, business operations, engineering, and also a number of external business partners. We are seeking a seasoned analyst who is passionate in designing, building, and monitoring financial/billing/revenue recognition solutions. As a valued member of the Finance organization, this person will focus on aspects of the Order 2 Cash cycle including subscription billing, revenue recognition, credit & collections and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain billing and revenue management systems and their interfaces to other systems
- Assemble clear and concise business requirements and use cases that feed into the design and functional testing
- Partner with the Quality Assurance Team to ensure functionality matches the original requirement(s) and find/identify potential order/billing exceptions
- Automate testing for billing and revenue production
- Monitor and analyze complex cross functional production support incidents to determine the business impact and triage to the corresponding team(s)
- Defines and tracks key billing, revenue recognition, and exception metrics to ensure a healthy, efficient back-office
- Maintains and constantly reassesses the priority of production support issues
- Communicates the state of the production billing and revenue recognition infrastructure with the broader Finance team
Requirements
- 3+ years of financial systems experience, preferably at a high-tech company
- Familiarity and understanding of corporate financial processes, such as credit & collections, month-end processing, etc.
- Familiarity with various payment types/solutions such as PayPal, Credit/Debit Cards, ACH, Direct Debit, and international methods
- Subscription based billing experience required
- Strong knowledge of of SalesForce/ CRM functionality and workflows
- Fluency in SQL - nice to have but not required
- Understands US GAAP criteria for revenue recognition and how its applied and breaks in day-to-day use cases - nice to have but not required
- B.S. in Management Information Systems/Finance or Computer Science preferred
