Localization Project Manager

We're looking for a Localization Project Manager to join us in Dublin. This is a pivotal role, helping to ensure we're providing a first class experience for our users in EMEA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong vendor relationships through excellent communication and vendor interfacing skills
  • Responsible for coordination of the Linguistic Review program at Dropbox and across vendor teams.
  • Understand challenges in the localization process and lead broad language quality improvement initiatives at the language and team level, as well as upstream.
  • Manage day to day localization projects through translation vendors.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to coordinate priority EPD work streams for i18n including coordination on product launches, new features, marketing, new languages, QA, etc
  • Work closely with Language Specialist and Language Managers to maintain linguistic and functional quality
  • Facilitate feedback from Language Specialist / Vendors and ensure their feedback is captured, validated, and implemented.
  • Coordinate with Dropbox’s quality vendor resource and drive quality projects to ensure localization quality and monitor language quality data.
  • Perform quality assurance responsibilities, including answering translator queries, training translators and revisers on linguistic concepts, communicating with team on repeated errors
  • Provides general support to team members, team goals/ initiatives, and contributes to overall process review and improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum)
  • Previous project management experience within the translations industry, Localization Project Management experience preferred
  • The candidate must be an active Dropbox user and familiar with our mobile and web products
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, thorough, accurate, and able to work quickly and steadily in a focused manner
  • Able to deal with frequent change, delays, interruptions, and unexpected events
  • Demonstrates initiative, persistence, ability to problem solve, and enthusiasm for learning new skills. Offer creative thinking and solutions.
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Willing to travel as needed
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Fluency in an additional language is a plus
  • Knowledge of CAT (computer-aided translation) tools
  • Understanding of agile framework
  • Knowledge of software development cycle
  • Strong computer and desktop publishing skills
