Software Engineer - Product Anti-Abuse

Engineering Team | San Francisco, CA

At Dropbox, we’re building the home for people’s most important stuff—their photos, docs, and other treasured information. Our small team of engineers builds the thousands of complex parts that seamlessly handle over a billion files a day for over 200 million users, while delivering a product that's easy enough for your grandparents to use. While we've built a great foundation, we've only just begun.

Our users store their most important and private stuff in our products because they trust us and our brand. The Product Anti-Abuse team is responsible for maintaining that trust. It ensures online safety by fighting abuse such as spam and malware across all our products. We are looking for engineers who are passionate about building systems to prevent abuse and protect our users and brand.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze potential abuse cases and build solutions to prevent them.
  • Build infrastructure to detect abuse in real-time.
  • Work closely with the product team to prevent loopholes that can lead to abuse.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong foundation and in-depth technical knowledge of various abuse mitigation strategies.
  • Background in data analysis is a plus
  • Independent and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, on both technical and non-technical issues
