Infrastructure Security Engineer - Production

Our small team of engineers builds the thousands of complex parts that seamlessly handle over a billion files a day for over 200 million users, while delivering a product that's easy enough for your grandparents to use. While we've built a great foundation, we've only just begun.

The Infrastructure Security Team is seeking highly talented security engineers to help protect the infrastructure that stores our user data. This critical role requires a deep passion for building security-at-scale, the ability to synthesize radical solutions and the ability to define new security paradigms that work in a fast-paced engineering culture.

Responsibilities

  • Drive security engineering and architecture efforts for our production infrastructure
  • Develop methods to security-harden Dropbox environment without diminishing productivity
  • Build creative tools and services that detect security issues and increase our response capability
  • Provide security domain expertise on system, network, encryption and authentication services
  • Proactively audit the infrastructure, identify security problems and prioritize fixes

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience building security in a fast-paced, web-scale environment
  • In-depth knowledge of multiple OS platforms with strong emphasis on Linux
  • Advance knowledge of networking protocols - TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, BGP etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of authentication protocols, applied cryptography, PKI and SSL/TLS
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (C++, Python, Java, Ruby, etc)
  • Knowledge of the latest attack trends, tools and the threat landscape
  • Proven track record of independently driving security projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills on both technical and non-technical issues
