User Research Coordinator

Dropbox is seeking a candidate to join Team Insights and become its first User Research Coordinator. The mission of Team Insights is to help Dropbox create better products and services by leveraging and being inspired by the needs of users and customers. At its core, it is about generating insights that drive action and impact product and design.

User Research Coordinator is someone who is great at understanding the needs of the research team and is able to identify and find the right participants for our various research efforts, from usability studies to exploratory efforts. We are looking for somebody with organizational and research recruiting skills who has a knack for calmly noticing truth and lies.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit participants for research studies and handle all scheduling, communications and coordination between the research team and the research participants.
  • Manage, update after each project, and maintain a database of users for research projects
  • Always keep user data privacy and security, CAN-SPAM, consents and opt-outs, at top of mind
  • Search for qualified participants using various methods
  • Conduct screening via phone and email and surveys.
  • Manage participant communications, including research project announcements, phone calls, emails and scheduling.
  • Arrange the details of research prep, facilities, and locations for projects
  • Occasionally, as needed, attend events to promote research opportunities

Requirements

  • 1 or more years managing and coordinating user research participant recruiting projects using an internal database (or lists), external recruiting agencies, and social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) -- for individual interview sessions and for group discussions.
  • Experience recruiting participants for remote usability tests (via video chat and screen sharing) and providing basic tech support for remote research participants
  • Experience using survey apps (Survey Monkey, Qualtrics, Google forms, and others), Google Docs, Dropbox, Microsoft Office, and basic databases.
  • Experience with user data privacy policies and regulations and ethics.
  • Attention to detail, organizational and planning skills, with an ability to network and cold call and seek new contacts.
  • Familiarity with professional research participants.
  • Easy rapport with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to readily recall personal details of research participants in order to quickly and effectively match people with project requirements.
  • Talent and creativity for planning research events.
  • Deep knowledge of the San Francisco Bay Area is a plus, along with familiarity with focus group facilities and other locations for research
