DB2 vous avez dit DB2
Publié: 31 Jan 2009 à 13:54Franchement en 2002, j'étais pété de rire, maintenant en 2008 tout autant surtout quand un DSI (d'une grosse boite française internationale) me sortait que DB2 allait enfin remplacer Domino, je pense vraiment que cela vaut le détour
Rappel: même chose avec WorkPlace (souvenir souvenir), puis Websphere (rappel à LotuSphere: Domino est mort WebSphere arrive) - pour Websphere je rigole demandé à un utilisateur pas trop noeud noeud d'installer WAS, portal et d'arriver à le lancer SANS regarder le nom des p****s de fichiers texte à modifier......), puis portal, et enfin maintenant on a QuickR (yes), j'ai dû oublié 2/3 produits bien sûr...
Donc en gros IBM se demande comment se débarasser de Domino, mais sans franchement pouvoir le faire, je pense qu'en le vendant à Microsoft, Ray devrait pouvoir se dépêtrer de ses emmerdes concernant Sharepoint et Groove (ils n'y arrivent vraiment pas les pauvres)........

Mills: "Throwing out the whole infrastructure and revamping the data storage. We have flexible schema-mapping capability in DB2 today, so we can map the Notes file systems and we can map XML natively. You can use alternative syntax like XML to actually access the data that sits in DB2 today. So that capability in DB2 now is allowing us to pull out the old Notes file structure and insert the DB2 infrastructure"
